(March 18, 2020, McLean, VA) – As global developments around COVID-19 increase, RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association is addressing its impact on people who are trying to build their families. The American Society for Reproductive Medicine announced yesterday that it is calling for the medical community to temporarily suspend most medical treatments, including IVF. With travel discouraged, people in the middle of adoptions or surrogacy plans are also experiencing additional unknowns. In this time of so much uncertainty around COVID-19, people who are trying to build their family are experiencing a wide range of emotions and concerns,” said Barbara Collura, RESOLVE’s President/CEO. “RESOLVE is here to help you through the stress of a cancelled or postponed cycle. We’re here to help you navigate an infertility journey that you could not have predicted.
RESOLVE plans to lead conversations and provide free resources through its established network of online and virtual forums, including support groups, online support groups, its Facebook page, and webinars focused on support. RESOLVE is continuously updating resources and communicating with the family building community through email and social media as COVID-19 impacts people on their family building journey.
This is time of uncertainty for us all – especially, for those in the infertility community whose treatment plans have been put on hold,” added Collura. “Remember, you are not alone. It is up to us to work together as a community support each other in times such as these.
