New editorial package, “The Infertility Trap,” highlights the overlooked role of men in infertility and calls for more equitable, informed dialogue

In recognition of National Infertility Awareness Week, RESOLVE: The National Infertility and Family Building Association is partnering with Cosmopolitan to elevate a critical and often overlooked dimension of infertility: the role of men.

Released today, Cosmopolitan’s new editorial package “The Infertility Trap,” examines the imbalance in how infertility is understood, discussed, and treated — despite clear scientific evidence that male factors contribute to approximately half of all infertility cases.

The package combines expert insights, firsthand accounts, and new survey data to reveal a stark disconnect: while most people recognize infertility as a shared issue, women continue to bear the majority of the emotional, physical and emotional burden.

Key articles that RESOLVE contributed information to include:

“When we talk about infertility, we often center women, which means we’re only telling half the story,” said Danielle Melfi, CEO of RESOLVE: The National Infertility and Family Building Association. “Leaving men out of the conversation harms both men and women and prevents infertility from being fully understood and addressed — from diagnosis and emotional burden to state and federal policy and workplace benefits. National Infertility Awareness Week is a time to recognize the full range of experiences people with infertility face, and this package from Cosmopolitan helps us close this gap. Infertility impacts everyone. It’s time we talked about it that way.”

By amplifying these findings, RESOLVE and Cosmopolitan aim to drive a more inclusive, informed conversation around infertility — one that encourages earlier testing, shared responsibility, and better support systems for all individuals and couples navigating family building.

The full series, “The Infertility Trap,” is now available on Cosmopolitan.com.
