RESOLVE Applauds Passage of Colorado Infertility Legislation

Colorado to Provide Insurance Coverage for Infertility Treatments

(McLean, VA) – RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association applauds the passage of The Colorado Building Families Act into law. Colorado will provide insurance coverage for infertility treatments, including IVF and fertility preservation, effective January 1, 2022.

This historic legislation makes Colorado the eighteenth state with an infertility insurance law, the twelfth to provide IVF coverage, and the tenth to provide fertility preservation for cancer patients and others whose medical treatment may cause iatrogenic infertility.

Even in this time of crisis, this is amazing news for people in Colorado who can now look forward to increased access to family-building medical treatments,” said Barbara Collura, President /CEO, RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association. “RESOLVE believes that everyone has the right to build their family and if they need medical intervention to reach their goal, it should be available to all. Greater access to care is now a reality in Colorado and sends a powerful message to other states.

By tracking bills in all 50 states, RESOLVE activates its grassroots advocacy network and professionals in the field to respond to bills that are pro-family or anti-family.
