Linda D. Applegarth, EdD
Dr. Linda D. Applegarth is a licensed psychologist at the Perelman/Cohen Center for Reproductive Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine in NYC. She is Assistant Professor of Psychology in the Departments of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Reproductive Medicine, and Psychiatry. She has specialized in counseling infertile individuals and couples for over 30 years. She now shares her time between New York City and Naples, Florida.In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Applegarth is a past Chair of the Mental Health Professional Group (MHPG) of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), and has been active with that group since its inception. She has also served as Secretary on the Board of Directors of ASRM. Dr. Applegarth has published numerous articles and book chapters on the psychological aspects of infertility. She is currently co-teaching an online fertility counseling course for other mental health professionals. Her research interests focus on continuing follow-up of children and families created through ovum donation. Her article, “Parental Disclosure to Offspring created with Oocyte Donation: Intentions v. Reality” was recently published in Human Reproduction (June, 2016). She is the past Chair of the Board of Directors of National RESOLVE: the National Infertility Association.
