Bill Name: Mandates insurance companies to provide coverage for non-experimental infertility treatments Added: January 9, 2018
- Description of Bill: This bill amends the insurance laws of 1990 and 1992 to clarify that procedures covered under the law do not exclude surgeries to correct deformation as well as tests related to infertility. Coverage is not required in the cases of the reversal of elective sterilization, sex change procedures, cloning, or experimental medical or surgical devices. The bill also limits lifetime coverage to $100,000 per insured person and allows insurers to limit coverage in the cases of in vitro fertilization to individuals who have already failed to conceive in other infertility treatments.
