(June 20, 2018, McLean, VA) Barbara Collura, President & CEO, RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association, issued the following statement on New York’s Fair Access to Fertility Treatment Act (FAFTA):

RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association commends the New York Assembly and Senate for voting for their versions of the Fair Access to Fertility Treatment Act (FAFTA). However, we are disappointed that a compromise bill did not pass before the end of the legislative session. We’ve been at the forefront of this critical issue, and we will not stop until the New York legislature and Governor enact legislation that provides for full access to the optimal standard of care for medical treatments for all those struggling to build a family and those needing life-affirming fertility preservation services. No one in New York should settle for anything less.

RESOLVE appreciates the hard work of the Coalition to Help Families Struggling with Infertility in support of FAFTA and shares the Coalition’s determination that this legislation will be passed into law. We will work throughout the summer and fall to make sure FAFTA remains a top priority when the New York legislature reconvenes in January 2019.
