The mission of RESOLVE is to provide timely, compassionate support and information to people who are experiencing infertility and to increase awareness of infertility issues through public education and advocacy. RESOLVE improves the lives of people living with infertility.
History. Founded in 1974 by Barbara Eck, a nurse experiencing her own infertility. RESOLVE is a national non-profit organization providing free/low cost support and educational programs in local communities to meet the needs of women and men diagnosed with infertility. Supported by a strong volunteer network, RESOLVE is a community for information and support for the family building journey.
Support Groups. A RESOLVE support group can help participants feel less isolated, empower them with knowledge and validate their emotional response to the life crisis of infertility. The freedom to express negative feelings and to identify with one another helps participants realize that they are not alone in their struggle with infertility.
Website. www.resolve.org offers wide ranging information on the infertility journey. A robust online community provides virtual support to anyone. The website offers a variety of online resources that address treatment, coping, third party reproduction, adoption and living childfree.
Advocacy. RESOLVE advocates on the state and national levels for health care coverage for infertility, medical research, adoption benefits and access to all family building options. RESOLVE hosts the only federal Advocacy Day in Washington, D.C. for the infertility community and has been at the forefront of fighting state legislation that would harm access to all family building options. Advocacy updates, bill tracking, and resources are on resolve.org.
Grassroots Volunteers. RESOLVE mobilizes and trains an extensive network of grassroots advocates on the state level who engage in all levels of advocacy from sending emails, researching and tracking bills, to meeting with and educating state legislators about infertility.
Speakers’ Bureau. RESOLVE has a network of spokespeople ready to address questions from the media and available for interview.
Funding. RESOLVE is a charitable organization supported by tax-deductible contributions from concerned individuals, foundations and corporations.
National Health Council. RESOLVE is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization certified under the National Health Council Standards of Excellence. The National Health Council demands the highest standards of accountability and ethical practice from its patient advocacy group members to assure the public that these organizations are worthy of support.
National Infertility Awareness Week® (NIAW). Founded by RESOLVE in 1989 and recognized annually each spring with nationwide events, NIAW informs the public about the medical and emotional issues faced by the millions of Americans with infertility and highlights all family building options.
Hope Awards. Each year RESOLVE recognizes leaders in the field of infertility who have made a significant difference in the lives of patients. The Hope Awards are awarded at the Night of Hope held in New York City.
Corporate Council. Corporate leaders in the field support RESOLVE’s mission by participation on RESOLVE’s Corporate Council. Members can be found here.
